The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon is a very popular anime film produced by Toei Animation and was released in Japan on March 24, 1963. This is one of the few anime films to have music by Akira Ifukube.

In 2003, Ifukube assembled cues from the score and created a five-movement concert suite. That same year, King Records released THE ARTISTRY OF AKIRA IFUKUBE 7 (KICC-440) which featured the premiere recording of the concert suite. On that recording, Tetsuji Honna directs the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
